Our Philosophy

Earth’s natural, life-giving systems are under significant pressure from human activity. Furthermore, disconnections between modern culture, nature, and community are impacting environmental and human well-being. This challenges us to work together to create more environmentally friendly economies while leaving behind resources, intact ecosystems, and thriving social systems for future generations. By creating increasingly localized, bio-based, coherent, and regenerative systems of organization and commerce, we can honor our place-based heritage, while embracing innovation, and learning new ways of being.

Through collaboration and frameworks like bioregionalism, regenerative design, historic preservation, Indigenous wisdom, social science, and the Sustainable Development Goals we can deepen our understandings and co-create healthier relationships between people and planet.
